About

Growing up in Summerville, SC, art was always intertwined in my life. From a young age, I was drawn to visually creative outlets and I was able to learn and experience different forms of art from some wonderful teachers at Rollings School of the Arts.

I went to the University of South Carolina and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I enjoyed teaching immensely and loved using my creativity daily. However, I decided to stay at home when our first daughter was born. Being a mom is my greatest joy and a huge source of inspiration for me.

In 2019, on my very first Mother's Day (as a new mama!), my husband surprised me with a pottery wheel. It had been quite some time since I had focused on anything solely for me; so this was a wonderful gift and perhaps a nudge in the direction of beginning my career as an artist.

Painting was always my first love so I decided to blend my knowledge of ceramics and painting into creating mixed media pieces on canvas. I still enjoy creating pieces on the wheel from time to time.

I draw inspiration for my art from nature, with a focus on coastal elements - the colors, textures, and spirit of the Lowcountry. I live by the ocean and find beauty even in the gloomiest of days.

Currently, I reside in Mount Pleasant, SC with my supportive husband, Ben, our beautiful daughters Rose and Violet, and our cat and two dogs.
